Dhanaulti Forest

Dhanaulti lies on the highest motor able point (2258m) around Mussoorie. Although a tiny hamlet, Dhanaulti is primarily famous for its picturesque deodar forest which can be reached after a 26 km drive eastwards from Mussoorie. The road leads through the fruit-rich belt of the region with a constant view of the lofty Himalayas. The sight of ethnic villages through the route make it a laidback approach towards the serene deodar hub where inns, restaurants, camp sites and pony rides makes it a memorable visit. The Mussoorie Forest Division has encircled an eco-park at Dhanaulti ridge where handicrafts from Garhwaland Kumaun are available. The Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigamguest house and the Forest Department Tourist Rest House are scenically located. Further ahead the road cruise through the town of Chamba from where one bifurcation leads to Rishikesh and the other towards New Tehri.
